Day 1 Kitulgala / Nuwara Elliya
Kelani River is one of the longest rivers on the island. It not only offers the possibility of sailing in its mouth, but is also one of the tourist attractions for people who want to experience unforgettable moments while rafting down the river on pontoons. This is an experience worth the risk, because during the trip you will encounter at least 3 crazy stages (class III) and an experienced skipper will guide the boat according to all the rules of river navigation. The pontoons on which the event participants sail are unsinkable, according to the organizer, and can accommodate from 4 to 12 people, depending on demand. Before the cruise, there is a mandatory health and safety training and it is also possible to change into swimsuits in the changing room. After the cruise, which lasts from 30 minutes to an hour depending on the river current (optionally the whole day), you can take a shower and eat well in a restaurant belonging to one of the most renowned acupuncturists and see his collection of Rolls Royces. Traveling through the highlands and valleys is the time to admire the spectacular views of the tropical interior. The idea of this tourist attraction was created in the 1970s. Currently, we offer both pleasure trips and visits to other parts of the island, as well as specialized kayak and pontoon trips for individual tourists and groups. Participating in the event may be dangerous, but as organizers we only use proven travel agencies with appropriate knowledge, skills, willingness to work, as well as offering insurance in the package (available for inspection). The equipment is perfect, participants receive life jackets, helmets and oars. The training lasts a few minutes and is limited to providing the most important information as well as the helmsman’s instructions. The trip is worth recommending, especially in combination with visiting Nuwara Elliya.
