Demonstrations of feeding baby elephants with milk and palm leaves are also organized every day at the Elephant Transit Home at 9:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. It should be mentioned that the efforts of people involved in restoring elephants to their natural habitat have resulted in approximately 100 happy elephants fed by human hands and now living wild and completely unrecognizable from others born in a natural environment. Elephants are the biggest attraction of Udawalawe Park, but you can also see other animals here, including leopards, rusty cats, tarajas, chital deer, Indian chevrotains, water buffalos, golden jackals, muntjacs, monkeys, including macaques and colobus monkeys.
